Welcome to our “Get to Know” series. Every Tuesday for the next year we’ll introduce a creator in the wellness space we think you should know. Featured creators come from a variety of backgrounds—online content creators, coaches, and founders of product brands—each with a distinct niche and meaningful contributions to the wellness community. We present these in a Q&A format so you can learn about each creator’s motivations, their proudest work, and ways to support their journey. We hope these conversations inspire and enrich your life.
This week we’re speaking with Kristin of Hapa Homecooking. Kristin says she loves to feed others and help people reach their potential in the kitchen. Read on to learn more about her story, recipes, and goals.

Why did you start your business?
Kristin: I began recording cooking demos and sharing recipes while recovering from knee surgery after a skiing accident. Friends and family responded so positively that I decided to create a separate platform for my food. I had only launched a year ago, and the response has been far better than I imagined.
What’s your mission / purpose?
Kristin: My mission is to help people find joy and confidence in the kitchen, whether that means quick 30-minute meals, semi-homemade desserts, or making sourdough and kimchi from scratch. I develop recipes that work for cooks at different experience levels. Beyond recipes, I volunteer with Gigi’s Playhouse to teach cooking classes for individuals with Down syndrome and frequently host classes for nonprofit fundraisers. As a nurse, helping others is central to who I am, so combining cooking with volunteer work is something I pursue whenever I can.
Which pieces of content are you most proud of?
Kristin: One of my most recreated recipes is my at-home Crunchwraps—I love seeing the different spins people put on them. Lately I’ve also been baking sourdough and I’m proud of how much I’ve learned. I bring my community along when I try something new; we share the setbacks and successes together, and I hope that encourages others to experiment in the kitchen.
Where are you headed next? What are your goals for the coming year?
Kristin: My immediate goal is to make the holiday season easier for home cooks by offering recipe ideas, time-management tips, and creative ways to use leftovers. I’m also launching curated, cause-based gift guides that emphasize fair trade and purposeful shopping. Over the next year I plan to continue growing content on my newly launched blog and take food photography courses to level up my visual storytelling.
How can we and the Fed and Fit community best support you?
